Exploring Solutions to Fast Fashion and Excess Clothing

Have you ever wondered? With Fast Fashion being notorious for its excessive amount of waste emitted, it has risen to become the second biggest polluter in the world. Only 20% of donated goods to destinations such as Goodwill are viable to become reused in circular fashion. So let’s explore some methods on how we can tackle this threat to our environment.

The reason why there is so much Fashion waste is the incredibly low prices that come with manufacturing and fast fashion sales. One of the ways to give clothing a “second life” is to find a local thrift store and take advantage of the even lower prices but still contribute. Another way is to buy clothing that is lasting so that your wardrobe has less but more quality pieces that will last for longer. You can also find environmentally friendly/aware brands that are using corporate social responsibility to make sure your clothing isn’t as harmful. There are many ways, and every textile you save is another marine life saved.

If we make even smaller moves by putting a little bit more thought into these pivotal deciding factors we can make a major impact together.
